Before everything became overstyled, overoptimized, and overclicked, creativity was a little rawer – a little different. This video page is a collection of time capsules – spontaneous ideas, crafted with love, capturing moments that once defined who we were. Time is precious. Back then, social media had long arrived in everyday life. After Myspace, Facebook became the thing between 2012 and 2020. Event promotion through endlessly similar invitations had become inflationary and interchangeable. | I started getting into video editing and wanted to use the basics I had learned in the most creative way possible. So I began producing short video teasers for myself and my friends – as a somewhat egomaniacal but charming signature for our events. And what can I say? It was a blast. Often in two versions – just to make sure no one got bored. What started as a random idea turned into – hopefully – a lovable little neurosis. A playful, expressive contest with myself. For us. For the collective. Back then, hardly anyone had these kinds of “digital flyers.” And beyond the fun of it all, there was always the deeper question: How can we, as a collective, manage to stand out from the crowd? Looking back, I think we did – even if just for fleeting seconds, now tucked away in the past. Watch. Feel. Enjoy. Back then, everything was handmade: with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere. And the music? All from our crew. What remains may not be perfection – but it’s a feeling you can’t render.
